apocalyptic or not apocalyptic the road is still drama and book of eli is still an action movie
anyway lets hope the next post apocalyptic doesn’t disappoint in terms of story
this one was so much cooler only and only because of all of the ass kicking

Hehe, ya I am comparing the movies, not as drama/action but as 2 apocalyptic movies. I understand or at least I can imagine why the boy would be portrayed so, but damn I really hated it. So in my opinion the movie “the road” REALLY SUCKED. I understand if you were a fan of the novel and enjoyed the movie. Maybe I expected “the road” to be somewhat of an action movie as well… my bad

if you’ve read the book you understood why the boy acted like he acted. and putting a 300 page book in to a 2 hours movie – some story telling Bull S, is bound to happen because like 10 more hours are missing from the story so thats why you don’t understand anything.
and is it just me or are you actually trying to compare drama to an action film?

yeahw ell what I liked was that it was very creepy watching it. Mad max terminator ect didnt have that very creepy view of a destroyed world well mad max was good gotta admit the emptiness of the Australian outback helped but I watched this and it was really disturbing watching the blasted landscape. I really apreciated coming back and pulling into my driveway with the picket fense and the neatly cut lawn ect not trying to be a hippy about it

remember he asked the woman if it was the “flash” or “the sun after?” so following what you said. Not alot of young ppl are affected, none if I remember right. And People wearing eye gear are just being careful, better safe than sorry. BTW I dunno how long it would take ozone layer to repair itself so I can’t really comment, but I’m sure it has to do with how much damage was done to begin with, and since that’s ambiguous, there’s lots of wiggle room for the movie to play with

omg, the story telling in “the road” was horrid. The child was over acted to no avail, in the end all i can feel was contempt for that stupid kid. eg. when his dad was shot with an arrow, instead of tending or caring or even questioning the well being of the father, the kid says, NO FATHER, DUN GO AFTER THE MEN THAT JUST SHOT AT US. WTF? that’s not innocence, that’s stupidity. Also the cannibalism was a theme apparent in both films, but in “the road” it was TOOO harsh and i couldn’t swallow it.

the road is based on best seller book about a father and his son’s journey to self discovery did you really expect a dad kicking ass? what did you expect from this movie….

well probably taking this too far may have to ask a nuclear scientist this but wouldnt 30+ years of non human activity i.e. no heavy factories, cars driving about and your usual Carbon gases building up by 6 billion people today means that the ozone layer would of repaired itself by then? Or am I looking to much into it?

what word are they beeping out?

made me think of a badass blind samurai in a westernized post apocalyptic world. Twist wasnt too bad either, ppl saying they saw it coming are more than likely lieing as the revelation of it being the Bible wasnt the plot twist to begin with.

The weapons in the war damaged the ozone layer.
A depletion of the ozone layer increases the UV-radiation.

@holylamp831
isn’t it kinda obvious though? the movie is called the book of eli, it’s obvious that the bible is in it. I haven’t even seen the movie either.

I liked the movies bleak landscape, it was a Western at heart with some comicbook violence and some 80′s music video touches. An lots of good British actors to give it weight. Some nice twists. Maybe it had a few product placement issues. but I’d put it alongside with Dog Soldiers, Outpost is quality albeit with a slightly higher budget. 8/10

in the book of eli everyone’s walking around in designer shades because of the sun. QUESTION I know that it’l iradiate the soil ect but in a nuclear war why would the UV rays from the sun mean that’l people walk around with glasses. I didnt get that

6 bucks?! Damn my movie theatre charges 10 bucks.
