The Host, by Stephenie Meyer – Book Review

February 3rd, 2010 by business web hosting

Stacy says go read this book. Even if you don’t like sci-fi and aliens (like me) and are more into chick lit…you’ll still enjoy this one! I love the names of her chapter titles in ALL Meyer’s work, lol.

ya i agree with you on the spirit beings. sounds alot better. and i love how she shows us how importand our earth is to us and how others see it and how we treat our earth

Exactly…they aren’t your average aliens. I like that you call them spiritual beings…but that does make it seems a little religious, which it’s not. So maybe more like Spirit Beings? I dunno. But thanks for the comment. I think it’s gonna help people understand more.

i read it right when it came out and the library at my school was closing down for the year. the librarian told me that only a few ppl could check the book out once it got there and i almost never turned it in. but they understood cause i finished it before them.
i dont think it was aliens that everyones refering to, i’d like to think of them as spiritual beings. we call them aliens because theryre not us. something to think about

Exactly. It’s more about Human interaction and emotion. It is way different than people expect, even me. Not your average Alien book :)

I would actually say out of the 600 plus pages it was very little about the alians and was about the humans… even tho the main character was Wanderer an alian.. very confusing but i was expecting the book to be WAY diff then it was.. i was very happy i was wrong i love this book and have read it more then once :D

It’s not your normal alien book at all. And it’s even better than Twilight in some ways. You’ll really connect to the characters. Get through the 1st chapter or so and you’ll be hooked! Don’t worry – you’ll enjoy this read :)

I loved the book so much<3
It was my first experience with miss Meyer, and man she is a fine author.
Too bad she is spending the rest of the year off, i even had to read Twilight to make the waiting for the sequel easier to bear.
    And hey, Great review;)

Awe – you are such a sweetheart. I actually have another review or 2 to do. But I had a buncha books I tried to begin reading, and then I found I couldn’t get into them…went through like 5…so I am on another Kristin Hannah book now. :) Thanks for the suggestion, I will look into it! :)

I actiually finished this book today. I really enjoyed reading it. But now I’m a little panicked cuz i haven’t got anything to read, so I’m about to order the first book of another serie (House of nights). It contains 6 pretty short (about 400 pages) novels. I think it’s a twilight/harry potter cinda serie. Maybe you should give it a try! The first book is called “Marked”.

BTW! Your reviews kicks ass! Keep on doing them =]

I’d read it if I were you. You can always check out your local library like I do. Another idea is to go to the book store and read the 1st chapter to see if it’s readable (in the style you like). You have to be able to bend your reality a bit, but otherwise, I’d really recommend it. It’s one I’m planning on reading again (and that’s rare for me).

I’ve been debating back and forth on whether to read this book or not. I”ve heard so many mixed reviews that I’m not sure what to think. I mean, I did enjoy the Twilight Saga (Except for Breaking Dawn). I may eventually give in and buy The Host. We’ll see.
