Black Kat asked: I am starting my own business, and am researching different web hosts for starting my site. So far, I have found some information, but nothing that really stands-out to help. Even reviews and best rated searches have given me only some information. I want to use an FTP server to upload Dreamweaver pages to my website. Does anyone have a web host they are using that they would recommend (or not recommend if you are using one you dislike and might be changing from). Any information is appreciated. Thanks.

JM asked: I’m starting up a small business and have been researching web hosts for my site. I don’t know anything about webhosts, so I’m not really sure what I’m looking for. I’ve seen a lot of options at or around the $7/ month range, so I’d like to stay in that category. But I need one that’s fairly easy to use. I’ve got a good amount of overall computer knowledge, but building a website is something I’ve never done and I’d prefer to not have to buy one of those expensive programs to do so.
I was about to sign up w/ HostMonster (it seemed to get good reviews online), but then I read somewhere that it’s difficult to use. Anyone agree or disagree with that?
I’ve also heard that the Yahoo web host isn’t that great.
Thanks for your help!

stamps asked: I’m actually trying to do two sites in the long run. The first will be small business. The second will be a review site with blogs/forums. My Web design experience is small, but I’m learning and have the CS3 Web package. I know how to use Photoshop well.

xmooth asked: I am looking for a web hosting service to host a website for a business that will be quite MySQL heavy. I’ve been searching for review wesbites, but they all seem so unprofessional and have very different rankings from each other. I get the sense that a lot of them are sponsored and biased. Is there an objective review site out there?
I meant “What is a GOOD web hosting service review website”

gogetgeek asked: Hello,
I know this has been asked before, but I’ve searched many web sites and reviews and I’m still confused. So, I’ve narrowed it down to Hostmonster, Bluehost, and Lunarpages. I’m a pretty technical guy, but I’m looking for a reliable web host for multiple domains that some will use databases. I’m not so concerned about a “simple” web site creator, as opposed to one that follows the HTML & CSS standards. I was going to go with 1&1 after seeing their huge ads in PC Magazine until I read the reviews. Thus, I’m not so concerned about cheap, just a service that is reliable, professional, and popular. In other words, what service would a developer recommend and use?
Thanks,
Brett
This is what concerns me: http://www2.jeffcroft.com/blog/2006/feb/27/11-internet-is-the-devil/.
And then I just happened to stumble across DreamHost: http://www.dreamhost.com/aboutus.html. They are employee-owned, which in and of itself impresses me about a company. Any customer reviews on this company?
